It is good news on COVID case numbers in our area.

The numbers in Richmond Borough and Teddington continue to fall.

In fact now we are in the lowest area for the disease (per 100,000 people) in London.

The current rate in Teddington and the wider borough is 428 per 100,000 according to the latest stats.

This resembles a huge drop off from the start of the year.

Indeed the whole of London is moving in the right direction.

Now only three boroughs have infection rates of over 1,000 per 100,000 - a huge change from 17 last week.

This coupled with the vaccination programme offers real hope for the future.

However we are not out of the woods yet as hospitals are still struggling to deal with the number of patients and deaths remain very high.

Hopefully these number will start to trend down in the coming days.
