Rag Rug Workshop
United Response, Field Lane, Teddington TW11 9BP
UNTIL Saturday 2nd October
Join us at our fun, relaxed Saturday morning craft workshop and discover a wonderful way to upcycle your old clothes and fabrics!
Using recycled fabrics, hessian and a rugging tool, learn the skills needed to create your own rug, cushion or wall hanging. Either bring along your own materials or use ours (or maybe a mixture of both).
We'll provide plenty of fabric but, if you have any treasured old clothes, please do bring them along. T shirts work particularly well, but you can use this age-old technique with any fabric.
In this workshop you will be introduced to the technique of latch hook rag rugging using long yarn strips, which allows you to create a wide range of designs. We'll also teach you how to cut the yarn strips, bind edges and finish your creation professionally. No prior experience of rag rugging is necessary at all.
Your rugging tool, hessian and fabrics are included, together with lots of tea, coffee and home made cake.
This class will be taught by Ann and Catherine, from Handmade Workshops.
"A very enjoyable morning learning a new skill."
"I had so much fun!"
